3 STUDENTS WIN THE TONY ELUMELU AWARD IN UNILAG......WHAT IS MY SCHOOL DOING?


Honours came the way of three graduates of the University of Lagos on April 23, when they received the Elumelu Legacy Prize from the Tony Elumelu Foundation.
They are Adijat Isiaq, Moninuola Ojikutu and Abdu-Hakeem Buhari.
The three were celebrated at a special ‘convocation’ hosted by UNILAG Vice- Chancellor, Prof. Rahmon Bello.
The Elumelu Legacy Prize is awarded annually to the best undergraduate and graduate students in the fields of Economics, Business Administration, and Medicine  – programmes related to the academic and career paths of founder of the foundation, Mr. Tony Elumelu (CON), and his wife Dr. Awele v Elumelu.

Isiaq graduated this year with a Master’s in Business Administration;  Ojikutu earned her degree in Medicine and Surgery; while Buhari graduated top of his department with a first-class degree in Economics – having a perfect CGPA of 5.0. omo hot brains.....
While congratulating the winners, Bello noted that the feat was not only a plus for them, but it was also a positive development for the institution.
“Such awards ensure we breed meritocracy in our society,” he said, adding, “ we are sure that our award winners will be good ambassadors for the UNILAG as well as The Tony Elumelu Foundation.”
Elumelu also congratulated the winners and assured stakeholders that the foundation would not relent in its efforts to celebrate excellence.
He said, “We are privileged to be able to publicly recognise and support these admirable men and women. Their stellar performance affirms our belief in Nigeria’s talent – an asset that we would like to nurture.
These scholars have demonstrated excellence in education and leadership within their fields, and we commend them. My wife and I believe young leaders such as these have the aptitude and resolve to change not just Nigeria, but Africa.”
