Tecno
Mobile seems to have found a great market in Nigeria as I can see from their
statistics that they are here to sell, sell and sell. With the/near same specs
and cheaper prices of phones you would see on other “Known” brands, I think
Tecno knows their marketing strategy well enough. Okay less talk more writing,
today I bring to you the Tecno P5. Old news right? In know but I haven’t written
on it yet and my readers would love to know my say on it so here it is.
The Tecno
P5 which is a sequel to the P3 is one of Tecno mobile that runs on the android
4.2 JellyBean version so game lovers, you have greater access to better HD
games than the ones you’ve been playing on the ginger bread and ice-cream but
hey Kit-Kat is still better. Being a big brother to the P5, it’s expected to be
larger and yes it is. It comes in a 4 inch capacitive touchscreen of resolution
480 x 800 with total size of 12.4cm in length, 6.5cm in width and 1.1cm in
thickness.
It features
a primary camera of 5MP which has auto-focus(face detection) and smile detection
auto-shoot with flash which also functions as a torch and possesses a secondary
camera(front facing camera) of 2MP which supports video calling. Great huh? Yeah
right?
Now lets
dive into the innards of the device. Looking at RAM, it has a meagre 512MB of
RAM with a GPU of MT6572W and features 1GHz dual core processor. Okay, now the
internal memory seems kinda low for the phone as it goes with 4GB of which 2GB
is usable. But hello, Tecno blesses you with an 8GB memory card. So no
complains bah.
Other features
include, dual SIM capability(which I should have mentioned earlier) and battery
stand-by time of 520hrs. light sensor and proximity sensor comes with other
smart phones so it not so hot a feature. Though just having two colour variety
of just black and white aint so flashy but this phone(which I am currently
using) offers you great possibility in the android experience.
Pros
- § Has enough battery life.
- § Flash is one sought after feature of smart phones (c’mon taking pics in the dark?)
- § More HD games are available. Try ‘em (Respawnables.).
Cons
- § Very low RAM
- § Since we have the Kit-Kat version Jelly-bean is kinda old.
- § Internal memory is not so hot and no colour variety (just black and white).
The prices stated below were
correct as at the time of this post……..
